10% of citizens who received booster dose: Minister of Health

Muscat: The start of the 29th press conference of the Supreme Committee in charge of examining the mechanism of dealing with developments resulting from the spread of the Corona virus, Covid 19.

Minister of Health : His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Muhammad Al-Saidi. Unfortunately, the percentage of citizens who received the booster dose was only 10%.

Minister of Health: 96% of those admitted to ICU never received the vaccination or only received one dose.

Minister of Health: “The booster dose is mandatory for those who have completed 6 months from the last dose, in order to be able to travel to Europe.”

Minister of Health:Only 24% have received the third dose of the Corona vaccine

Minister of Health: Evidence shows that the health sector in Oman has not been affected as badly as in some other countries.

Minister of Health: Fatigue, exhaustion led to several resignations in the health sector, both citizens and expatriates. Therefore, we will face some challenges on the manpower front.

Minister of Health: Medicine and medical equipment manufacturing companies have been affected by the pandemic. Oman has a strategic stockpile that is sometimes resorted to. There are enough medicines in Oman to contribute to saving lives.

Minister of Health: No serious side effects have been observed in those who have taken both first and second doses of the vaccine against Covid-19.

The Minister of Health congratulates the medical staff on the occasion of Doctor’s Day, which falls on March 30 every year.

Minister of Health: Some Govt entities have booked halls for mass iftar for their staff

Minister of Health: Decisions by the Supreme Committee, related to the Holy Month of Ramadan are aimed at protecting public health and not at creating obstacles

Minister of Health: There is no conclusive evidence that vaccines cause heart attacks, and we ask everyone to receive doses, especially those who suffer from chronic diseases or the elderly
