Fourth Youth Dialogue Session in A’Dakhiliyah Focuses on Agriculture and Water Resources

Manah: The fourth edition of the Youth Dialogue Session in A’Dakhiliyah Governorate commenced today, focusing on the current state of the agricultural, livestock, and water resources sectors.

Organized by A’Dakhiliyah Governorate in cooperation with the Directorate General of Agriculture and Water Resources, the two-day event aims to explore ways to develop these sectors and enhance their management efficiency.

The session brings together a group of youth, specialists, and stakeholders as part of ongoing national efforts to strengthen food security and promote the sustainable management of natural resources.

The dialogue seeks to shed light on the current status of the agricultural and water sectors in the governorate, addressing technical and regulatory aspects related to their development. It also reviews successful local experiences and best practices, while examining future requirements, particularly improving resource-use efficiency, expanding the adoption of modern technologies, raising productivity levels, and enhancing added value, in line with national directives.

Khadija Said Al Khiyari, Director of the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit in A’Dakhiliyah, stated that the youth dialogue sessions serve as an important platform for strengthening youth participation in discussing developmental issues. She noted that the sessions contribute to shaping practical visions and ideas that support sustainable development in the governorate. She added that organizing the fourth edition in 2025 reflects the governorate’s commitment to engaging youth and specialists in vital sectors and benefiting from their expertise and proposals.

The first day of the session focused on the agricultural and livestock sectors, featuring working papers and discussion panels that addressed development opportunities, operational efficiency, and support for responsible investment initiatives.

The session will conclude tomorrow with discussions on water resources, as well as the investment landscape in agriculture, livestock, fisheries, and water resources across the governorate.
