113 participants in Tamkeen Initiative’s long-term professional certification program
Muscat: The indicators of the training plan for the Tamkeen initiative for the year 2023, which was launched by the Capital Market Authority, indicated that the total number of employees participating in long-term professional certificate programs reached 113 employees working in the insurance sector.
The Authority explained that the plan included 4 professional certificates, including the Chartered Insurance Institute Certificate in London with the participation of 22 employees, where two of the certificate subjects were completed for the previous batch with the participation of 17 employees, in addition to implementing the Associate Certificate in Risk Management with the participation of 24 employees, and implementing the Individual Practice Certificate with the participation of 18 employees.
The authority confirmed that the Tamkeen 2023 plan introduced the insurance basics certificate. With the aim of providing comprehensive and complete knowledge to those newly joining the sector, the first version of it was implemented at the beginning of this year with the participation of 32 employees.
The Authority stated that this plan was a continuation of the efforts made to empower and develop Omani cadres in the insurance sector and create a stimulating and attractive environment for young talents, as the Authority is implementing an integrated package of long and short training programs and professional certificates during the current year based on the training needs of the insurance market in the Sultanate of Oman.
It explained that the Tamkeen initiative has focused during the past period, since its inception, on short technical training programs related to the latest developments in insurance technical processes and their applications, in addition to products.
The Authority implemented 7 short training programs during the current year with the participation of 202 employees from the insurance sector, which included: compliance and money laundering programs in insurance companies, governance and management of insurance companies, property insurance, combating fraud in the insurance sector, preparing and analyzing financial statements for insurance companies, and insurance. Engineering, and combating cyber risks, in addition to a short-term training program that will be implemented during the month of December regarding auditing health insurance claims management companies, with the participation of 35 employees from the insurance sector.
It is noteworthy that the Tamkeen 2023 initiative introduced a number of new training tracks as a result of the analyzed data and indicators of the sectors supervised by the Capital Market Authority, including the sector of companies operating in the field of securities.
