12th Session of Vision Economic Forum kicks off in Oman on Tuesday

Muscat: The 12th session of the Vision Economic Forum will begin on Tuesday under the title “The Self-Employment Economy”. With the aim of enhancing awareness of the culture of self-employment and encouraging Omani youth to it, and creating an environment for discussion that discusses implementation paths on the ground, and provides social protection for its workers.

The forum also aims to find practical, systematic solutions that enhance the developmental and economic returns of the self-employment sector in the Sultanate of Oman, especially with the regulatory and financing incentives package provided by the sector.

His Excellency Sheikh Saba bin Hamdan Al Saadi, Secretary General of the General Secretariat for National Celebrations, sponsored the opening of the forum, which is organized by Al Roya Newspaper. The forum includes the presentation of two experiences in the field of self-employment; The first is presented by Fahd bin Sultan Al-Ismaili, head of the “Misyaf” group, while the second experience is presented by Rawan Bint Amin Al-Salmiya on the “Dot Next Gig” freelance platform.

The forum concludes with the launch of the discussion session, “Freelancing between Interim Priorities and Future Requirements”, with the participation of: Misri bin Sulaiman Al Ameri, Director of the Microfinance Department at the Oman Development Bank, Dr. Al-Badi, the financial and economic expert, Chairman of the Board of Directors of North Palm International, and Eng.

It is noteworthy that the current session of the forum aims to reach a number of sustainable employment solutions with which the work environment develops, and to ensure the consistency of the theoretical track with the practical side, in line with the requirements of self-employment in the Sultanate of Oman.
