1st Muscat Dialogue Sessions Begin

Muscat: The first Muscat Dialogue sessions 2023, organized by Muscat Governorate, began today under the title “Towards a Sustainable and Prosperous Future.”

The three-day sessions aim at adopting the ideas and proposals that will be presented and engaging different segments of society in identifying priority projects and considering their implementation.

The sessions were opened under the patronage of Sayyid Saud Hilal Al Busaidi, Governor of Muscat, who said in his speech, “Youth are the wealth of the nation, its primary engine towards development, development and prosperity, and the goal of development.”

He added that ensuring the engagement of young people, listening to them, identifying their needs, interests and aspirations, and their participation in development plans will be accorded with care and attention from various state institutions.

The first session dealt with the theme of “Humanization of Cities and the Entertainment Industry,” with the participation of Dr. Hanan Amer Al Jabri, Director General of Urban Planning at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning. The session was moderated by Shabib Al Maamari, Director General of National Travel Operator in Omran Group.

Dr. Hanan Al Jabri spoke about urban planning methodology, ancient cities, the quality of public spaces, types of public arts, and the Vibrant Public Spaces Initiative.

The second session also discussed the topic of “Environmental Volunteering,” with the participation of Manar Abdullah Al Riyami, a quality specialist and expert speaker from the Environment Authority. The session was moderated by Ibrahim Al Salmi, Assistant Vice President of Ominvest Group for Corporate Communication.

Through this topic, Manar Al Riyami touched on the national goals of environmental volunteering, the successful national achievements and experiences pertaining to environmental volunteering, the successful experiences of neighboring countries regarding environmental volunteering, an analysis of the current situation in environmental volunteering, and the national components of environmental volunteering.

The second day of Muscat Dialogue sessions explores themes highlighting investment opportunities, technology and innovation, while the third day will include the closing session that reviews the most prominent outcomes and recommendations. – ONA
