Muscat: As many as 263 expatriate workers have been deported for violating the provisions of the Labour law, the Ministry of Labour said on Monday.
In a statement Ministry of Labour said: “In order to follow up on the non-Omani workforce and their compliance with the provisions of the Labor Law, the Ministry of Labor represented by the Directorate General of Labor Welfare (the joint inspection team) conducted inspection campaigns in the Governorate of Muscat during the period from May 28 to June 3.
A number of (206) workers were arrested in violation of the provisions of the Labor Law, including (141) workers who left work and legal measures are being taken against them, and 263 workers were deported during the same period.
