Muscat: More than 20 expats have been arrested for violating provisions of the labour law in Dhofar Governorate.
In a statement Ministry of Labour said: “The Ministry of Labour, represented by the General Directorate of Labor in Dhofar Governorate (Joint Inspection Team Office) in cooperation with the Royal Oman Police and the municipality of Dhofar conducts inspection campaign to combat the phenomenon of street vendors and random selling practiced by the non-Omani workforce in the state of Salalah. A number of (22) workers were arrested in violation of the provisions of the Labor Law, and work is underway to take legal measures against them.”
