Muscat: The 24th Otorhinolaryngology Conference in Muscat recommended the importance of enhancing efforts to implant cochlear implants in both directions for people with hearing disabilities, and developing modern methods to deal with various sinus conditions, such as using biological therapy in difficult cases.
He also stressed the need to use modern methods in dealing with some nasal tumors, through the eye socket, for example, and mechanisms for determining the stages of head and neck tumors, according to the latest methods related to various surgeries and the use of chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
This came at the conclusion of the 24th Omani Otorhinolaryngology Conference in Muscat, which was organized by the Omani Otorhinolaryngology Association, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, represented by Al Nahda Hospital, the General Directorate of Khoula Hospital, Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, the Oman Medical Specialty Board, and the Oman Medical Association.
The conference was attended by a number of professors, consultants and specialists from all over the world, and nearly 300 participants from the medical and paramedical categories from inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman.
The conference provided an opportunity to view the most prominent research, discoveries, medical technologies and advanced treatments for ear, neck and head diseases, such as ear nerve surgery, head disorders and their treatment, tumors of various types, benign and malignant, and the best practices and modern technologies for dealing with some diseases.
