25,739 register for Hajj 2023 on e-platform: Oman’s MERA

Over 25,000 people, including 2,900 expatriates, have registered online for Hajj 2023 so far until 27th February, according to the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs (MERA)s online statement. 

The ministry opened the registration for citizens and residents wising to perform Hajj for the year 1444 AH from February 21, which can be done online until March 4, 2023 

The Saudi government has said the minimum age for performing this year’s Hajj is 12 years, and the number of pilgrims returns to the pre-pandemic times.

 A statement issued by MERA, said, ‘A total of 25,739 applications have been received, most of which are from Al Dakhiliyah Governorates (4,582) 

Other governorates include Muscat (3697), North Batinah (3,834), South Batinah (2,427), North Sharqiyah (2,465), South Sharqiyah (1,705), Dhofar (2,086), Dhahirah (1,335), Al Wusta (131), Musandam (194), Buraimi (365), apart from 2,900 expatriates.
