Salalah: Visitors to the frankincense season activities organized by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in Dhofar Governorate at the frankincense land sites in the “Al Baleed” and “Sumharam” archaeological parks, and the Wadi Dawka Natural Reserve, reached about 27,000v of various ages and nationalities.
While the number of participating small and medium enterprises reached 40 institutions, including specialized companies and pioneering projects in the field of employment in the field of production of Omani frankincense derivatives, the number of schools participating in the drawing competition “Frankincense Caravans, History and Civilization” reached 34 schools, and more than 15,000 voters participated in voting for the competition.

Al-Abri explained that the frankincense season witnesses a large attendance of visitors every year to all the sites where events are held.
It is noteworthy that the activities of the frankincense season included planting 500 frankincense trees in the Wadi Dawka Natural Reserve in the state of Thumrait. Celebrating the inclusion of the Land of Frankincense sites on the list of the World Heritage Committee of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). In addition to theatrical performances that embody the extent of the frankincense tree’s connection to Omani civilization and cultural and commercial exchange with various ancient civilizations of the world.
