Muscat: To combat the phenomenon of collecting iron and scrap practices by expats, 28 have been arrested in Muscat for violating provisions of the labour law from the Wilayat of Muscat

In a statement Ministyy of Labour said: In order to follow up on the non-Omani workforce and the extent of their commitment to the provisions of the Labor Law and to continue combating the phenomenon of “collecting iron and scrap,” which is practiced by the non-Omani workforce in Muscat Governorate, the Ministry of Labour, represented by the General Directorate of Labor Welfare, conducted an inspection campaign that resulted in the arrest of 28 workers in violation of the provisions of the Labor Law. Legal measures are being taken against them.
