3rd edition of Musandam Winter Tourist Season to begin in October

Musandam: The third edition of the “Musandam Winter” tourist season was announced on Thursday, which will start at the end of October 2024 and continue until April 2025.

It will include an amazing and diverse range of events such as cultural and entertainment festivals, sports, artistic and musical activities.

This announcement was made during the promotional meeting organised by the Musandam Governor’s Office under the sponsorship of Sayyid Ibrahim bin Saeed Al Busaidi, Governor of Musandam at the Muscat W Hotel.

The third edition of the Musandam Winter Tourism Season will be organised within the continuous and tireless efforts of Musandam Governorate to promote tourism, contribute to strengthening the local economy and diversifying sources of income, in addition to highlighting the governorate as a distinctive tourist destination that attracts visitors from all over the world due to its multiple natural components and vocabulary.

The season also aims to enhance opportunities for cooperation and institutional partnership and open doors for investment by opening marketing outlets for owners of small and medium enterprises, productive families, entrepreneurs and craftsmen to promote and market their products at the governorate level and reach the largest segment of society.

The tourism activities will combine adventure tourism such as climbing, mountain hiking and ziplining, cultural tourism that allows visitors to learn about the governorate’s culture, history and civilization, traditional industries, recreational tourism and marine tourism that allow visitors to enjoy watching dolphins, diving to explore the depths that flourish around coral reefs, fishing trips, rowing and camping, etc.

The governorate looks forward to increasing the number of visitors through the season, in addition to activating the role of government and private institutions in organising events, and involving civil and voluntary institutions in this exceptional season.

The promotional meeting included the signing of a number of cooperation and partnership agreements by the Musandam Governor’s Office with the government and private sectors, in addition to honouring a number of entities, partners and sponsors who organised the previous Musandam Winter Season and played an effective role in its success and increasing the flow of tourists to the governorate.

Sayyid Ibrahim bin Saeed Al Busaidi, Governor of Musandam, said that the Musandam Winter Season establishes a new culture in the local economy through various activities that will help small and medium enterprises to further open up and establish local partnerships.

Raed bin Mohammed Al Shehhi, Head of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry branch in Musandam Governorate, explained that the local Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry branch in Musandam Governorate is a major strategic partner in this annual event, which has promoted tourism in its previous seasons, and hlped in developing small and medium enterprises in Musandam Governorate, providing entertainment solutions for local residents, enhancing projects and providing many opportunities for the community in Musandam Governorate.

For her part, Sajida bint Rashid Al Ghaithiya, Director of Tourism Marketing at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, confirmed that the ministry is preparing an integrated promotional plan to promote the third edition of the Musandam Winter Season, given the governorate’s geographical richness and diversity of tourist and heritage landmarks.

The meeting was attended by their Excellencies the Walis, CEOs of companies and institutions supporting the season, members of the main and promotional committee for the season, and a number of invitees.
