The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of HH Dr. Fahd Al Julanda Al Said, Vice Chancellor of Sultan Qaboos University, and it was attended by representatives of the departments concerned.

The conference included sessions on managing the process of cutting down greenhouse gas emissions reduction and reporting them and visual presentations and working papers on solutions provided by financing institutions in carbon neutrality. It also included a session of discussion on raising energy efficiency and switching to sources of renewable energy.

Sayyid Hamid Sultan Al Busaidi, Executive Director of Oman Centre for Governance and Sustainability, said, “The conference coincides with the next phase of the Oman Vision 2040, in which clean energy serves as a fundamental factor in achieving carbon neutrality.”

He pointed out that countries seek to reach zero neutrality and reduce carbon emissions between 2030 and 2050.
