

Salalah: The Fourth International Conference of the Omani Association for Kidney, Urology and Genital Surgery began today in Salalah, organized in cooperation with the International Association for Male Infertility, the Arab Association for Urology, the International Society for Urinary Correction, the International Society for Urinary Incontinence, and other parties.
The opening of the two-day conference was sponsored by His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Saif Al Busaidi, Governor of Salalah. Dr. Muhammad bin Salem Al Marhoon, Chairman of the Conference and President of the Omani Association for Kidney, Urology and Genital Surgery, said in a speech he delivered that the conference includes scientific and training aspects and a presentation of the latest technologies, research and valuable lectures in the field of urology and urology and surgery delivered by 25 lecturers from more than 20 countries who are participating in the conference, about 150 specialists and workers in the health sector from inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman.
The President of the Omani Association for Kidney, Urology and Genital Surgery explained that the Association is working in cooperation with the Omani Council for Medical Specialties to establish a specialized training program for urology in the Sultanate of Oman, which will provide hospitals with surgeons specialized in this field.
He pointed out that the conference reviews everything new in the field of kidney and urinary tract surgery, which enriches this specialty locally and regionally as it is one of the important steps in providing the best treatment methods for patients and improving the specialized skills of doctors and health sector workers in the Sultanate of Oman and all sisterly and friendly countries from various parts of the world. the world.
The program of the first day of the conference included the presentation of a number of lectures and training workshops covering medical examinations for male infertility and laparoscopic treatment of kidney stones. and prostate biopsies for the diagnosis of prostate cancer. A medical exhibition was also opened that included models of the latest medical devices on the global market that are used in treating the urinary and reproductive tracts.
It is worth noting that the Omani Association for Kidney, Urology and Genital Surgery was formed in 2016 and aims to find cooperation with global associations to exchange experiences and research and contribute to developing the practices of the urology profession in the Sultanate of Oman, in addition to spreading awareness and education about urinary tract diseases to the Omani community.
