Muscat: The number of active mobile broadband Internet subscriptions reached 5.8 million until the end of April 2023, according to preliminary statistics issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information.
The statistics showed that the number of mobile phone subscriptions increased by the end of last April by 12.6 percent, compared to the same period last year, recording 6 million 909 thousand and 886 subscriptions. 5 million 781 thousand and 188 subscriptions.
The largest number of mobile phone subscriptions was prepaid mobile phone subscriptions amounting to 5 million 193 thousand 55 subscriptions, with an increase of 9.3 percent until the end of April 2023, compared to the same period last year.
Total fixed line subscriptions connected to the Internet protocol increased by 7.7 percent until the end of April compared to the same period last year, compared to a decrease in analogue fixed line subscriptions, which include prepaid and postpaid, by 13.6 percent, while the total number of fixed Internet service subscriptions reached 539. One thousand and 329 subscriptions, up by 3.6 percent until the end of last April, compared to the same period last year.
