Muscat: Five teams from Oman have qualified for the World Robot Olympiad, which will be held in November of this year in the Republic of Panama, which is one of the most important international robotics competitions that are held annually.
The final qualifiers were held on Saturday with the participation of 30 teams from various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman in the National Robotics Competition, organized by the Robotics Education Center (Roboticktick).
In the robot category, 3 teams qualified: “Oman Tech”, “Bin Hamed” team, and “Lado team”.
While in the sports robot category, the Sultan Qaboos School team qualified, and in the starting stage, the New World International School team qualified.
The global competition includes 4 main categories: mission robots, future innovators, future engineers, and sports robots. The team consists of two to three people under the supervision of a coach to guide them.
The World Robot Olympiad national competition aims to inspire future generations and improve their competencies in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, and it combines artificial intelligence and robotics.
The competition also focuses on youth creativity and skills in various categories, through competitions in robotics and artificial intelligence. It is held annually with mathematical and technical challenges, with an annual theme of innovation in problems facing the world.
The International Robot Olympiad is a global competition aimed at showing the creativity of young people of different ages in the fields of robotics, artificial intelligence, and STEM programming.
