Muscat: The 51st Oman National Day celebrations in all schools have been cancelled to prevent the spread of Coronavirus Covid-19.

The Ministry of Education issued a circular to administrative and educational cadres in educational departments and schools, banning the holding of special events and celebrations on the occasion of the 51st National Day.

The Ministry of Education said to limit the spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19) , adhere to precautionary measures, and to stabilise the epidemiological situation in the Sultante. the ministry has received a circular from the concerned authorities regarding not holding 51st Oman National Day celebrations. the celebration cannot be conducted with gatherings and socialising, as it may result in increase of Covid-19 infections. “It is requested all schools to abide by the decision and take necessary measures in this regard,” the Ministry added.
