55% of Oman’s Liwa dual carriageway project completed

Liwa: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology continues to implement the Liwa dual carriage project, which Links North Batinah Governorate from Liwa Roundabout on the Batinah Road to the intersection with the Batinah Expressway, with a length of (5.5) kilometers.

The project work, which has reached a completion rate of about 55 percent, includes raising the efficiency of the existing road from a single carriageway to a dual carriageway with two lanes of traffic in each direction and a cross-section of 22.1 metres, constructing two new roundabouts, preparing entry and exit paths, and service roads on both sides of the dual carriageway. (In some places) to serve the smooth movement of residential and commercial communities.

The dual carriageway will also be constructed according to the standard specifications approved in the Road Design Manual, and will be provided with all traffic safety requirements, including concrete and metal barriers, guidance regulations, warning paints, and the installation of LED lighting poles.
