Yanqul: Field and construction work is continuing on the “Yanqul Viewpoint” project in the Wilayat of Yanqul in Al Dhahirah Governorate, with the completion rate reaching about 60 percent.
The project is being implemented by Al Dhahirah Municipality on the road linking the Wilayats of Yanqul and Sohar.
Eng. Abdullah Sulaiman Al Hashimi, Director of Yanqul Municipality Department, said that work is progressing according to the approved timetable.
He explained that the total area of the project amounts to 120,704 square metres, while the utilized area covers about 65,000 square metres in the Al Nahda Square area along the Sohar-Yanqul road.
Al Hashimi added that the total cost of the project is estimated at RO 1.68 million.
The project includes several recreational and service facilities targeting different age groups, including green spaces, an open-air theatre, cafés, sports fields, water fountains, walking paths, barbecue areas, prayer rooms and other supporting facilities.
He noted that the Yanqul Viewpoint project comes within the efforts of Al Dhahirah Governorate to enhance recreational services, expand green spaces and support investment opportunities and local added value.
The project is also expected to highlight the governorate’s natural and tourism assets and support sustainable development efforts in the region.
