66 expat workers arrested in Oman for violating labour law

Muscat: Sixty-six expatriate workers were arrested for violating the Labour law in the Wilayat of Barka in the South Al Batinah Governorate, according to the Ministry of Labour (MoL)

In a statement Ministry of Labour said: “With the aim of following up on the non-Omani workforce and the extent of their commitment to the provisions of the Labor Law and the regulations and decisions issued in implementation to combat the phenomenon of selling practiced by the non-Omani workforce in the Wilayat of Barka in the South Al Batinah Governorate.

“The Ministry of Labor, represented by the General Directorate of Labor Welfare, carried out an inspection campaign in collaboration with the Security and safety services inspection unit arrested 66 workers in violation of the provisions of the Labor Law, legal measures are being taken against them.”
