

Muscat: The Ministry of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries and Water Resources announced the issuance of 660 water licenses of various types during the month of August 2023.
Statistics issued by the Water Licensing Department in the Ministry’s General Directorate of Water Resources Management showed that the licenses were distributed among the governorates as follows: 7 licenses in the Musandam Governorate, 41 licenses in the Buraimi Governorate, 142 licenses in the Al Dhahirah Governorate, 79 licenses in the North Al Batinah Governorate, and 87 licenses in the South Governorate. Al Batinah, 16 licenses in Muscat Governorate, 138 licenses in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, 100 licenses in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, 28 licenses in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, and 22 licenses in Dhofar Governorate.
The water licenses issued in August varied between: applications for well registration, applications for well licenses, applications for dams and falaj, applications for well drilling contractors, in addition to applications for development projects.
