Salalah: The Sixth Lawyers Forum, titled “The Purpose of Pretrial Detention and Guarantees for Impounding an Accused”, began today in the Wilayat of Salalah, Dhofar Governorate, The two-day forum was organized by the Omani Lawyers Association.
The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of HH Sayyid Marwan Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar. The forum brings together lawyers from GCC states and other Arab countries.
Two sessions were held at the opening of the event: The first session was titled “The purpose of Pretrial Detention”, while the second session discussed “guarantees for the arrest of an accused”.
As part of the opening ceremony, several memorandums of cooperation (MoCs) between the Omani Lawyers Association and a number of legal institutions were signed. Besides enhancing legal cooperation, the MoCs were aimed at upgrading the skills of lawyers and providing them with further legal knowledge.
