The 8th Omani Dates Festival, which is the largest agricultural event in the Sultanate of Oman, will kick off on Monday, and will continue until November 6, at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center.

The festival, whose opening is sponsored by His Excellency Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, aims to promote Omani date products and attract visitors and tourists to introduce the types of Omani dates and encourage producers and farmers to take care of and preserve palm trees.

The eighth edition of the festival, organized by the Ministry of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries and Water Resources, in cooperation with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority, includes many artistic events and competitions, an exhibition of photographs in the palm axis, in addition to a children’s theater that presents performances and cartoon characters, a corner for games and coloring, and many events accompanying the festival.

A number of farmers, producers and owners of dates processing units from various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman will participate in it to display varieties of Omani dates and their derivatives in innovative and modern marketing methods and methods.
