ABA Oman International School Unveils Underwater Mural at Al Mouj Muscat

Muscat:  In collaboration with Al Mouj Muscat, ABA Oman International School proudly unveiled a stunning underwater mural at The Walk Mall located in the Wave, Al Mouj.

Asim Iftikhar, Senior Community Manager, Al Mouj Muscat stated, “We are delighted to collaborate with ABA Oman International School on this incredible art project. This remarkable mural depicts the community’s proximity to an abundance of sea life around our wonderful shorelines, while demonstrating a sustainable partnership between our community and ABA.”

The project, led by Miss Andrea Zarate Pardo, Middle School Visual Arts teacher, showcases the creative prowess of our students. The captivating mural, featuring a vibrant underwater scene complete with fishes, corals, and whales, reflects our students’ creative passion. Miss Andrea skillfully guided the students to bring their imaginative ideas to life, creating a truly immersive and inspiring piece of art.

In line with ABA’s commitment to promote sustainability, this mural aims to instill a sense of responsibility for our environment through artistic expression. “We are proud to have played a part in fostering a sense of responsibility towards our environment through this artistic endeavor. The underwater theme symbolizes our dedication to the cause of protecting our seas, and we hope this mural inspires our students and the wider Muscat community to take action. I am particularly proud of how the IB curriculum at ABA provides ample experiential learning opportunities such as ‘art beyond the classroom’, for instance,” Andrea added.

“I have enjoyed art from my early years, and with visual arts being a prominent subject at ABA, I am happy to have played a significant role in the designing process and creation of this mural, which also promotes a meaningful message. I am extremely proud of all my talented artist friends who created this together, and I’m grateful to Ms Andrea for the guidance,’ expressed ABA high school student, Harriet Norton.

The mural project is a celebration of art and a conscious effort to raise awareness about the need to protect our oceans. As part of its mission, ABA Oman International School aims to instill a strong sense of environmental stewardship in students, encouraging them to be mindful of their impact on the world around them.
