Activities of Food Safety Week in North Al Batinah begins

Sohar: The activities of the Food Safety Week, organized by the Directorate General of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources in the governorate of North Al Batinah, began and will continue until the 17th June.

Engineer Saeed bin Ali Al-Shibli, Director of the Food Safety and Quality Department, explained that the organization of these events comes with the aim of spreading awareness among the various groups of society, and achieving the highest standards in food products, whether agricultural or manufactured, in a way that enhances the culture of societal awareness of healthy foods according to the specifications that preserve these foods.

He added that the activities of the Food Safety Week include the opening of the Food Safety Awareness Exhibition, which included 10 pillars to define the roles and actions carried out by various government institutions and the private sector in preserving the quality and safety of food, and reviewing government efforts in preserving food and its connection to health and consumer protection, and the inspection campaigns carried out in this regard. the side.

The activities of the week, during the coming days, will also witness the implementation of training workshops and lectures, which are distributed in the governorate’s states, on ways and means of food preservation, in addition to a children’s awareness corner.

Participating in the activities of the week are the Municipality of North Al Batinah, the General Directorate of Health Services, the General Directorate of Consumer Protection, the Sohar Station for Logistics Services, in addition to a number of departments of the General Directorate of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources and a number of private sector institutions in the governorate.
