In a statement the Ministry said: “The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and the Al Dakhiliyah Governorate will launch the activities of the Dakhiliyah Festival 2023. The festival includes heritage and entertainment activities, and tourism experiences, during the period from February 23 to March 4, 2023, in a number of the governorate’s states.

The launch of the festival will also coincide with the official opening of the Bisya and Salut Archaeological Visitors Center in the Wilayat of Bahla.

Tourist destinations in its affiliated states, publicizing the cultural and historical heritage, involving small and medium enterprises and members of the local community, increasing economic returns for them, and raising the occupancy rate of hotel establishments.

The festival’s activities will be held in a number of places and tourist sites in a number of wilayats of the governorate. The program of the festival’s activities will include the implementation of many distinctive tourist experiences, such as simulating daily life in castles, making Omani sweets, experiencing Omani barbecue and pottery making, which aims for visitors to practice these experiences according to a specific schedule. The festival will also include folklore performances, horse and camel shows, paragliding, evenings (artistic, chanting and literary), youth initiatives exhibition, youth dialogue session, traditional markets and artisan markets, entertainment games for young and old, theater for accompanying events, Omani sweets industry, and tours.
