A’Dakhiliyah Implements Public Service Projects Worth Over RO 319 Million

RO 319 Million Infrastructure Projects Support Oman Vision 2040 in A’Dakhiliyah

Nizwa, 4 January 2025 (ONA) — The Governorate of A’Dakhiliyah is witnessing the implementation of public service projects in the electricity, water, and sanitation sectors with a total value exceeding RO 319 million.

These projects are being carried out by subsidiaries of Nama Group as part of ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure efficiency and improve the quality of services provided to citizens and residents across the governorate’s various wilayats. The initiatives align with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, supporting sustainable development and strengthening the readiness of essential public services.

Eng. Yousef Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Head of Technical Affairs at Nama Electricity Distribution Company, told Oman News Agency (ONA) that the company is implementing several electricity projects across different wilayats of the governorate. These include the upgrading of the Adam 33 kV substation, as well as the construction of two new substations in Birkat Al Mauz and the Samail Industrial Area, at a total cost exceeding RO 5.1 million.

He explained that the Birkat Al Mauz substation was commissioned prior to last summer, while the remaining substations in Birkat Al Mauz and the Samail Industrial Area are scheduled to become operational during the first quarter of 2026. These projects aim to enhance network reliability, accommodate future demand, and support economic and urban growth in the governorate.
