Added Value of Enterprises in Oman Exceeds OMR 8.8 Billion by Q3 2023

Muscat: The total added value of active private enterprises during the third quarter of 2023 amounted to RO 8.863 billion, according to the statistics of the monthly bulletin issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

The contribution of active enterprises to the gross domestic product (GDP) at current prices fell to 80.4% during the third quarter of 2023, compared to 81.6 percent during the third quarter of 2022.

The added value of large enterprises recorded RO 6.44 billion, representing 54.8 percent, a decrease of 17.5 percent compared to the same quarter in 2022, while the added value of medium enterprises amounted to RO 742 million, representing 6.7 percent, an increase of 4.1 percent.

The added value of small enterprises amounted to RO 903.900 million, representing 8.2 percent, an increase of 23.6 percent, and the total value added of small enterprises amounted to RO 1.174 billion, representing 10.7 percent, an increase of 37.8 percent.

The NCSI data also reported 8.5% increase in number of workers in active private enterprises in Oman, which now stand at 1.792,000 during the third quarter of 2023, compared to 1.653,000 during the third quarter of 2022, while the number of institutions reached 232,632 institutions, with an increase of 10 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
