Bidbid: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources launched an aerial spraying campaign to combat the Dubas palm insect (Al-Mataq) for the spring generation 2023 in the Wilayat of Bidbid in the A’Dakhiliyah Governorate, provided that the campaign continues to cover the rest of the governorates, respectively.

This campaign comes as part of the ministry’s efforts to combat the insect and protect the date palm crop from agricultural pests, and as a continuation of the annual program implemented by the ministry to reduce the economic damage caused by the pest of dubas palm, which attacks this economic crop and causes damage, and in many cases these damages exceed the palm crop to include other cultivated crops. between and around the palms.

The ministry called for a follow-up of the spraying program to avoid the pesticide reaching the eyes and skin, and not to breathe the fog and vapor of the pesticide during spraying, while removing all animals from the area before spraying, and covering ready-made animal feed and drinking water sources for humans and animals.

To avoid contamination, move honey bee hives away from the control area prior to the start of aerial spraying.
