Aesthetic Arabic Crafts Exhibition in North Al Batinah

Sohar: “The Beauty of the Arabic Letter” exhibition was opened today at the Sultan Qaboos Mosque in Sohar, which was organized by the Directorate General of Culture, Sports and Youth in the Al Batinah North Governorate, represented by the Omani Arts Association in Sohar.

The exhibition included 15 paintings in the art of Arabic calligraphy by the Omani calligrapher Ahmed Al-Muraikhi, which included the types of Arabic calligraphy and what they contained of Quranic verses, wisdom and poetic verses using modern technology in the service of Arabic calligraphy, and the artwork accompanying the painting represented in the color treatment of the line, decoration, and others.

During the exhibition, writing tools such as papers and inks and the tools used in the implementation of these paintings were presented. The exhibition will be accompanied by workshops in Arabic calligraphy with the participation of 18 plastic artists and calligraphers from the Omani Society for Arts.

The opening of the exhibition was sponsored by His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Busaidi, Governor of Sohar.
