Agreement Inked to Manage, Operate Al Mirani Fort in Muscat

Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism today signed a contract for the management, operation and utilization of Al Mirani Fort in the Wilayat of Muscat with the Al Hajar Mountains Resorts and Hotels Company.

The agreement was signed by Heritage Undersecretary  Eng. Ibrahim Said Al Kharousi and Eng. Khalid bin Hamad Al Busaidi, CEO of Al Hajar Mountains Resorts and Hotels in the office at the Ministry’s General Office.

The signing of this agreement reflects the Ministry’s efforts to make optimum use of architectural heritage and ensure its sustainability, and maximize its benefit.

This approach also seeks to provide direct and indirect job opportunities and empowering the private sector and enable small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and artisans to find marketing outlets for their products. Other objectives include enriching the tourism sector through value-added projects serving the local community and revitalizing cultural heritage sites in accordance with Oman Vision 2040 and the strategic programs of the 10th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025).

The Ministry also aims to develop, qualify and provide diverse tourist destinations and experiences that contribute to diversifying the tourism product, maximizing the benefit of cultural heritage and historical landmarks from tourist destinations and destinations, and highlighting the Omani civilization and the nobility of the Omani cultural heritage and its authentic culture.
