Muscat: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources and Oman Food Investment Holiday Company (OFIC), a subsidiary of Oman Investment Authority (OIA), signed here today an agreement on the management and operation of a tissue culture (farming) research centre in the Wilayat of Bahla, Governorate of A’Dakhiliya
The agreement was signed by Dr. Saud Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources and Eng. Saleh Mohammed Al Shanfri, CEO of OFIC
As per the agreement, tissue culture saplings will be produced to provide the needs of the agricultural sector, as well as the local and international markets. The production will stand at 120,000 saplings per year and it will go up to 300,000 saplings per year in the first phase of the project.
