Muscat: The Ministry of Education signed today two agreements with Oman liquefied Natural Gas Company (OMAN LNG) to fund projects that support science, knowledge research and innovation in Oman.
The first agreement is on developing the Scientific Exploration Centre in the Governorate of North A’Sharqiyah. The centre targets raising awareness on the importance of using renewable energy, particularly hydropower, hydrogen, wind and solar energy in reducing environmental risks.
The second agreement is on funding a training programme for 320 students in several science and innovation centers in the governorates of North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, South A’Sharqiyah and A’Dhahirah.
This project aims to locate and utilize new idea in the fields of web designing, artificial intelligence (AI) and software applications.
The two agreements were signed by Majid Said Al Bahri, the Ministry of Educaiton’s Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs and Dr. Amor Nasser Al Matani, CEO of Oman LNG.
