Mangaluru: Air India Express has announced the resumption of direct flight services between Mangaluru and Muscat, restoring international air connectivity for passengers from India’s coastal region to the Sultanate of Oman.
According to airport authorities, the service will operate twice a week—on Sundays and Tuesdays—starting from 1 March 2026. Flights are scheduled on 3 March, 8 and 10 March, and 15 and 17 March, with the same operating pattern to continue thereafter. The flight duration is approximately three hours and 25 minutes.
The Mangaluru–Muscat route was previously operated during the 2025 summer schedule, with services commencing on 14 July. At that time, the airline operated four weekly flights before suspending the route.
Airport officials noted that the summer schedule will come into effect from 29 March 2026, after which flight timings and departure schedules from Mangaluru are expected to change. Passengers have been advised to verify updated schedules when planning their travel.
The resumption of direct flights to Muscat is expected to benefit expatriates, tourists and business travellers, and to further strengthen air connectivity between India’s southwestern coast and the Gulf region.
