Al Buraimi: The Department of Endowments and Religious Affairs in Al Buraimi Governorate today organized the first legal forum titled “Endowments Law: Between Legal Responsibility and Societal Responsibility,” as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the legal and community-based dimensions of the endowments sector.
The forum featured two dialogue sessions.
The first session included three research papers:

“Endowments Law: Between Legal Responsibility and Societal Responsibility” presented by researcher Ahmed Masoud Al Alawi.

“The Legal Responsibility of Endowment Management in the Sultanate of Oman within a Regulatory and Governance Framework to Ensure Sustainability and Development” presented by researcher Ibrahim Nasser Al Zadjali.

“Models of Contemporary Problems in Omani Society” presented by researcher Ahmed Abdullah Al Hadidi.
The second dialogue session also comprised three papers:

“The Juridical Personality of Endowments through Omani Endowments Law” presented by researcher Hassan Ali Al Shaibi.

“Endowments in the Sultanate of Oman” by researcher Abdullah Ali Al Salti.

“The Law of Joint Endowments and Multiple Supervisors: Management and Decision-Making Challenges” presented by researcher Abdulrahman Suwaid Al Adwani.
At the conclusion of its proceedings, the forum issued a set of insights and recommendations aimed at enhancing institutional coordination among relevant entities for the inventory of endowment lands and the clear definition of responsibilities. The recommendations also included the need to develop clear mechanisms for service fees that account for the specific nature of endowments and help mitigate financial challenges.
The forum also called for the establishment of a unified national database that consolidates documents and data related to endowments, in order to expedite procedures and support informed decision-making.
