Al Buraimi Lights Festival Offers Innovative Visual Experience Showcasing Heritage Landmarks
Al Buraimi: The Wilayat of Al Buraimi is witnessing these winter days the vibrant activities of the Al Buraimi Lights Festival, which presents an innovative visual experience highlighting the governorate’s historical and cultural landmarks in a modern, creative style. Through advanced lighting and projection technologies, several prominent sites have been transformed into interactive platforms that reflect the cultural identity of the place with a contemporary spirit.
The festival’s activities are spread across four main landmarks: Al Buraimi Gate, Al Hilla Fort, Al Khandaq, and Al Buraimi Oasis (city center), where light displays and artistic projections blend history with modern visual storytelling.
The festival is accompanied by a range of events at Al Buraimi Oasis Square, including the “Wamdat Idrak” exhibition specializing in lighting, an open-air theater hosting artistic performances and folk groups, musical concerts, and designated areas for productive families. The program also features electric and electronic games, face painting activities, and a food and restaurant corner, providing an integrated entertainment experience suitable for all age groups.
Ismail bin Hamad Al Balushi, Director of the company implementing the light shows, explained that the Al Buraimi Lights Festival is the result of integrated artistic and technical efforts employing the latest lighting and projection technologies. He noted that the festival was built on a vision aimed at showcasing historical landmarks in a modern manner while offering a visual experience that meets public expectations.
Al Balushi expressed his appreciation to His Excellency Dr. the Governor of Al Buraimi for his confidence in youth capabilities and his continuous support, which provided them with the opportunity to innovate and present high-quality experiences that highlight the governorate’s identity in a distinctive and creative way.
From the visitors’ perspective, Abdullah bin Salem Al Rashidi praised the diversity of the festival’s events and the high level of organization across the sites. He stressed that the program was comprehensive and suitable for all family members, reflecting careful planning and effective implementation. He also noted that free entry to the festival and activities contributed significantly to increasing visitor turnout and ensuring an enjoyable and complete experience.
Meanwhile, Subaih bin Salem Al Kaabi, owner of a small enterprise specializing in specialty coffee, expressed his appreciation for the opportunity provided to small and medium enterprises to participate in the Al Buraimi Winter Festival. He emphasized that such initiatives help introduce local products to a wider audience, stimulate sales, and enable entrepreneurs to build direct relationships with visitors within a supportive and encouraging environment.
The Al Buraimi Winter Festival follows early preparations aimed at positioning the governorate as an attractive destination during the winter season. The program is characterized by diversity and inclusiveness, with particular focus on events held at Al Buraimi Park and the Al Buraimi Lights Festival, which have become major attractions for visitors. The governorate is also preparing to host the Mahdah Car Championship as part of the festival’s upcoming activities.
