Al Buraimi Workshop Highlights Local Content in Development Projects

Al Buraimi: Al Buraimi Governorate, in cooperation with the Projects, Tenders and Local Content Authority (PTLCA), organized a workshop today at the University of Buraimi titled “Transferring Local Content Concepts to Companies Operating in Al Buraimi Governorate.”

The two-day workshop brought together specialists from the governorate and representatives of companies implementing development projects.

The workshop aims to enhance awareness among companies operating in the governorate about local content concepts and implementation mechanisms, contributing to maximizing the economic benefits of development projects and supporting sustainable economic growth.

In a speech delivered during the opening ceremony, Mohammed Rashid Al Shuhi, Director General of Administrative and Financial Affairs at Al Buraimi Governorate, underscored the importance of promoting local content practices among companies operating in the governorate.

He noted that strengthening local content contributes to increasing the utilization of locally available resources and services and enhances the economic impact of development projects.

The workshop reviewed the concept of local content, its main pillars and mechanisms for implementation in projects. It also highlighted successful experiences and models, in addition to hosting interactive discussion sessions on the challenges and opportunities associated with strengthening local content practices.

The programme focused on several key themes, including supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in development projects, localizing supply chains, developing national capabilities, and facilitating the transfer of knowledge and modern technologies.
