Al Dhahirah Municipal Council discusses proposal to establish central markets

Ibri: The Municipal Council in Al Dhahirah Governorate held its ninth regular session this year today, chaired by His Excellency Najib bin Ali Al Rawas, Governor of Al Dhahirah and Chairman of the Council.

During the meeting, the minutes of the previous meeting were approved and the responses and recommendations received were reviewed. The council members also reviewed the road projects and topics that link the wilayats of Al Dhahirah Governorate with other governorates.

The council addressed the issue of maintaining the (Ibri-Dhank-Hafeet) road that links Al Dhahirah Governorate with Al Buraimi Governorate, which is more than 150 km long. It represents a model for vital road projects that have contributed to facilitating the movement of individuals, improving the quality of life, linking the wilayats to each other, and activating the economic, commercial and tourism aspects.

The council members reviewed the proposal to establish central markets in the governorate’s states in light of the urban expansion and active commercial activity witnessed, and considering that Al Dhahirah Governorate is a meeting place that attracts many merchants and visitors from various governorates, in addition to providing a suitable environment for project owners to offer their products and services.

During the meeting, requests for treating rainwater drainage in the governorate’s states were discussed, requests for transporting sand and cleaning the drains of some valleys were examined, and recommendations included in the minutes of the seventh and eighth meetings of the Governorate Development and Development Committee and the Health and Environmental Affairs Committee were discussed.
