Al Jabal Al Akhdar festival 2023 Kicks off tomorrow

Al Jabal Al Akhdar: Activities of Al Jabal Al Akhdar Festival, organized by the Office of Al Dakhiliyah Governor in cooperation with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, will begin on Thursday 3 August 2023.

The festival will be held at the main site next to Hail Yemen Park and Seih Qatna Park from August 3 to 19 August 2023.

The extravaganza seeks to attract tourists from Oman and abroad, highlight the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Al Jabal Al Akhdar (Green Mountain) and Oman as a whole.

The festival enables entrepreneurs and owners of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to benefit from tourism promotion opportunities.

The festival comprises the Bait Al Rudaida Exhibition, which will continue to be open in the vicinity of Bait Al Rudaida Castle in Birkat Al Mouz area. The castle itself serves as a landmark for visitors and tourists looking for services or products that can enrich their experience.

An exhibition showcasing the products of local families and SMEs will be held on the sidelines of the festival. This is in addition to other events, programmes and recreational activities that are suitable for families and other members of the public. These include a youth corner, a children’s corner, an Omani foods corner and a farmers’ corner where products of Al Jabal Al Akhdar gardens will be on show.

Other activities that are common during Al Jabal Al Akhdar Festival include paragliding shows, theatre performances and adventure sports events like the Mountain Bike Race which is organized by Oman Cycling Association, Himam Trail Run Race and walkathons.

It is worth noting that visitors to the festival can get insights about the history of the state of Al Jabal Al Akhdar by visiting the historical village of Al Soujra. – ONA
