Rummana’ event in Jabal Al Akhdar attracts 41,600 visitors

Al Jabal Al Akhdar: The activities of “Pomegranate Harvesting in Al Jabal Al Akhdar” kicked off this evening in the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdar in the Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah, as part of the “Rummana” event, and will continue until September 28.

Khalid bin Hamad Al-Aghbari, Head of the Field Work Team at the Tourism Agriculture Development Company (Janaen), said: The first day of harvesting the fruits of the Ramana Project during the second edition witnessed a great turnout of visitors from inside and outside the state, and those coming from countries around the world.

He added that the number of visitors to the “Rummana” event since its launch on July 4 until the end of Friday, September 13, exceeded 41,600 visitors, expecting an increase in turnout during the next two weeks due to the start of the pomegranate harvest season in Jabal Al Akhdar, which is considered one of the best times to visit the state.

He stressed that the second edition of the “Romana” event is one of the agricultural tourism initiatives and projects in the state of Al Jabal Al Akhdar, aiming to spread the culture of environmentally friendly agricultural tourism, and provide new unique experiences to attract tourists, in addition to its contribution to enhancing local added value.

The head of the field work team at the Agricultural Tourism Development Company (Janaen) pointed out that the “Romana” event is the first of its kind to provide an exceptional experience for visitors through a number of activities and events provided by a number of small and medium enterprises, through which they can enjoy a unique experience among the pomegranate trees.

It is worth noting that the pomegranate trees of the “Romana” project amount to about 667 pomegranate trees during the second edition, and its production this year is expected to reach more than 8.5 tons.
