Ambassador of Oman to Bangladesh Presents Credentials

Dhaka: President Mohammed Abdul Hamid of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh received at the Presidential Palace in Dhaka today Ambassador Abdulghafar Abdulkarim Al Balushi, who presented his credentials as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Bangladesh.

During the meeting, the ambassador conveyed greetings and best wishes of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to President Abdul Hamid and the people of Bangladesh.

On his turn, President Abdul Hamid asked the ambassador to convey his greetings and best wishes to His Majesty the Sultan. He also wished the Omani people further progress and prosperity.

The President of Bangladesh also expressed his delight at Oman’s decision to upgrade its diplomatic representation in Bangladesh to the rank of ambassador. He also expressed his appreciation for the relief aid provided by Oman to Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, the ambassador pointed out that Oman is keen to boost bilateral relations, especially in the economic fields to include sectors of energy, oil derivatives, minerals and pharmaceuticals, in addition to the potential of investing in special economic zones. – ONA
