APSR proposes an amendment to control electricity prices in Oman

Muscat: The Authority for Public Services Regulation said in an announcement that it is proposing to make amendments to the schedule of conditions related to restrictions on fees for the Rural Areas Electricity Company license, referred to as “the licensee.”

According to the announcement, this procedure comes in accordance with the powers granted to the authority under the provisions of Article (109) of the Law for the Regulation and Privatization of the Electricity and Related Water Sector issued by Royal Decree No. 78/2004

The authority explained that the objective of the proposed amendment is to implement a new mechanism for controlling prices starting from the date of January 1, 2022.

The Authority for Public Services Regulation called on those wishing to view the draft of the amended license to visit the authority’s headquarters or on its website, and that any person who has any objection to granting the amended license to submit the details of his objection within 28 days from the date of publishing this announcement, and any objection submitted will not be considered after the period specified in this advertisement.
