Arab Shooting and Airgun Championship Kicks Off in Muscat

Muscat: The first day of competitions for the Arab Shooting and Airgun Championship (10-metre rifle and air pistol) commenced today at the National Olympic Shooting Complex in Muscat.

Hosted by the Sultanate of Oman and organized by the Oman Shooting Association, the championship features wide participation from Arab national teams competing in junior and senior categories for both men and women.

In the Junior Girls’ competition, Fatima Al Suwaidi of the United Arab Emirates claimed first place, followed by Ritaj Al Yafei of the State of Qatar in second place, while Yosr bin Ammar of the Republic of Tunisia secured third.

The Junior Boys’ event saw Omani shooter Khalid Al Kalbani take first place, with Abdulrahman Al Sulaiti of Qatar finishing second and Sultan Saleh Mohammed of the UAE placing third.

In the Women’s Individual competition, Nouf Al Dossari of the Kingdom of Bahrain won first place. Yasmin Tahlak of the UAE came second, while Bahrain’s Marwa Al Omairi secured third.

Meanwhile, the Men’s Individual competition was topped by Ibrahim Al Ali of the UAE. Omani shooter Hamad Al Khatri finished in second place, followed by Khalid Al Shorshani of Qatar in third.

At the team level, the Kingdom of Bahrain claimed first place in the Women’s Team competition, with the State of Kuwait finishing second and the State of Qatar third.

In the Men’s Team competition, the United Arab Emirates secured first place, followed by the Kingdom of Bahrain in second place, while the Sultanate of Oman finished third.
