    American mission completes the archaeological work for 2023-2024 season in Ibri

    Muscat: The American mission has completed its archaeological work for the 2023/2024 season, at the site of Rakhat al-Madra (Bat) in the Wilayat of Ibri, under the supervision of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, during which excavations resulted in the discovery of continuity of the foundations of the walls dating back to the Umm al-Nar era (2700 – 2300 BC), in addition to broken pieces. Pottery, beads, a fireplace, and a tomb dating back to the Wadi Suq period (2000 – 1300 BC).
