ASMED Organizes meeting for entrepreneurs in Al Wusta Governorate

Duqm: The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority today organized a meeting for entrepreneurs at its tenth station in the Al Wusta Governorate to learn about the investment opportunities available in the governorate and the challenges facing owners of small and medium enterprises.

The meeting was sponsored by His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed bin Muslim Al Kathiri, Governor of Al Wusta, in the presence of a number of Their Excellencies and officials.

During the meeting, the Authority reviewed its strategic directions, the goals it seeks to achieve, and its implemented and existing services and initiatives to support and empower small and medium enterprises, including financing programs, business incubators, and regulations regulating the practice of home production businesses.

The meeting also reviewed effective solutions and initiatives to address the challenges facing entrepreneurs and owners of small and medium enterprises in the governorate in various sectors.

Her Excellency Halima bint Rashid Al Zaria, Chairwoman of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority, said that these meetings confirm the approach of partnership and integration between government institutions and private sector institutions in the various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, explaining that the meetings are a participatory platform to reach solutions to challenges, explore promising opportunities, and work as one team with Partners in the entrepreneurship ecosystem.

It is noteworthy that the total number of small and medium enterprises in the Central Governorate reached 1,814 enterprises, of which 348 enterprises obtained an entrepreneurship card. Construction activity came at the forefront of economic activities, followed by wholesale and retail trade activity, then manufacturing activity.
