ATM: MHT Unveils Packages on Sur As Capital of Tourism 2024

Dubai: As part of its participation in the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) expo in Dubai, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism today announced the tourism packages of the Wilayat of Sur, the Capital of Arab Tourism 2024.

Dr. Walid Ali El Hennawy, Assistant Secretary-General for Events and Media at the Arab Tourism Organization, expressed the hope that the Wilayat of Sur would become a major destination for Arab and international tourism.

He added that the wilayat boasts a range of diverse marine and environmental tourism features. He explained that a city that wins the title of “Arab Tourism Capital” usually achieves a rise of more than 50 percent in the number of tourists visiting it.

For her part, Sajda Rashid Al Ghaithi, Director of the Tourism Marketing Department at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, said that the tourism packages prepared in cooperation with the national travel operator “Visit Oman” were announced today. She added that the packages would be available on the “Visit Oman” promotional website.

During the event, “Visit Oman” and Oman Airports signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Emirates airlines to promote tourism packages for the Sultanate of Oman in the airline’s global operations for the ATM.
