Awareness activities on the occasion of World Cancer Day in Thumrait

Thumrait: The branch of the Oman Cancer Society in Dhofar Governorate organized various awareness and entertainment activities in the Wilayat of Thumrait on the occasion of World Cancer Day, which falls on the fourth of February every year.

The events included a number of orientation programs, including an awareness lecture on cancer presented by Dr. Warda Belkhair, a doctor specializing in breast cancer at Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Salalah, in addition to the distribution of educational and educational leaflets and pamphlets, and entertainment programs for families and children.

The establishment of this event in the Wilayat of Thumrait comes as part of a wide awareness campaign implemented by the branch of the Oman Cancer Society in Dhofar Governorate to raise awareness against the disease and educate the importance of early detection of cancer and direct communication with cancer patients and the local community.

The event was attended by Haitham bin Salem Al-Gharibi, the deputy governor of Thumrait – the acting governor of Thumrait – and a number of officials.
