Muscat: Embassy of India, Muscat issues alert on fraudulent telephone calls in the name of Embassy and advises not to share personal details and payments without verification.
In a statement Embassy of India, Muscat said: Beware of fraudulent telephone calls in the name of Embassy of India
Indian citizens are advised to remain cautious against fraudulent telephone calls claiming to be from the Embassy of India and asking for payments in the name of alleged problems in documentation.
Personal details must not be shared and payments must not be made without verification. Embassy of India does not ask for such payments.
If case such a suspicious call is received, this should be reported to the Embassy by email at [email protected] for verification of facts.
