Bidiyah Camel Festival 2023 Concludes

Bidiyah: The Bidiyah Wilayat in the North A’Sharqiyah Governorate concluded today the activities of the third Bidiyah Festival for Hiran 2023, which is supervised by the Office of the Governor of North A’Sharqiyah, and organized by the Camel Committee in the Wilayat of Bidiyah under the auspices of His Excellency Qais bin Muhammad Al-Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion.

His Excellency Sheikh Ali bin Ahmed Al Shamsi, Governor of North Al Sharqiyah, said: The Bidiyah Al Hiran Festival is one of the festivals that receives great attention from camel owners from inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman, and this was evident in the festival in its third edition, as it witnessed a large participation of camel owners and fans of the sport of auction.

He pointed out: The festival contributes to preserving the ancient traditional heritage represented in one of the camel sports in the Sultanate of Oman, and encouraging the establishment of these qualitative festivals that characterize the states of the Al Sharqiyah North Governorate contributes to the tourism promotion of the governorate and supports the economic aspect at various levels, in addition to benefiting camel owners and owners. To introduce camels and market them inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman.

The activities of the closing day included the establishment of 3 races, including two runs for the “Golden Sayafi and Shatawi” category, and the elite run for the “Sayafi and Shatawi” categories, which was allocated to the mounts that won first place in the festival’s runs on the first and second days.
