Bidiya: The activities of the Bidiyah Third Camel Festival 2023 in Bidiya Wilayat in Al Sharqiyah North Governorate kicked off today, under the supervision of the Office of the Governor of North Al Sharqiyah and organized by the Camel Committee in Bidiya Wilayat.
Sheikh Humaid bin Muhammad Al-Hajri, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Festival, said: The launch of the two-day festival came amidst a large audience from inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman, and with a wide participation of camel owners and breeders from various governorates, indicating that the activities of the festival aim to highlight the best breeds and ways to preserve them.
In support of the traditional heritage, considering the sport of camel racing as one of the most prominent traditional activities that camel owners are keen on in the Sultanate of Oman and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, in addition to highlighting the best camels produced by the joint farms during the season, and giving owners the opportunity to see the most beautiful camels and compete for prize for the festival.
